- Banana blossom – 1/2 cup chopped
- Channa dal – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 chopped
- Red chilly – 3
- Asafoetida – 2 pinch
- Fennel seeds – 1.5 tsp
- Curry leaves – chopped
- Coriander leaves – chopped
- Oil – to deep fry
- Rice flour – 2 tbsp
Soak channa dal for 6 hours
Clean vazhaipoo. Take out the black thread like portion and the white one out.
Chop the rest and soak in water.
Grind channa dal and red chilly. Keep I tbsp of dal aside and mix it atlas so that it will give a nice crunch while biting. Add fennel seeds and grind one turn.
Squeeze all the water out of the chopped vazhaipoo. Take it along with coriander leaves and curry leaves in blender and give a quick turn.
Mix all ingredients together and shape it. (Make Vada immediately after mixing onions as it may leave water)
Pour oil in a kadai. Once it becomes hot make the flame low and deep fry.
Serve it hot…This vada is very healthy and tasty too..
