- Crab – 3 kg
- Onion – 2 big
- Green chillies – 3
- Ginger crushed – 1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp
- Garlic crushed – 1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp
- Tomato – 1
- Fennel seeds – crushed 1/2 tsp
- Chilly powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1and 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
- Coconut milk – 1 cup(thick)
- Curry leaves – 2 strings
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
In a pan add cleaned crabs, 2 green chillies, 1/2 tsp ginger, 1/2 tsp garlic, curry leaves, salt, water( 1 cup) and cook, so that the crab gets all flavours.
In another pan heat oil, splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves, sliced onions and saute till soft.
Add ginger garlic paste, crushed tomatoes and saute till mashed.
Add salt. Add all masala powders, water and saute till raw smell goes.
Once oil comes out add the cooked crab along with water.
Add half of coconut milk and mix well(cook till the crab shell turns orange to colour)
Finally add the remaining coconut milk and garnish with curry leaves.
