- 2 Onions
- 3 Tomatoes
- 3 Red chillies Add according to your taste
- 3 Garlic cloves
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp Sugar/ Jaggery
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- Curry leaves
In a kadai heat 1 tsp oil and add Onions. Add sugar and saute till it turns brown.
Add tomatoes, garlic and red chilli. Add asafoetida and salt. Cover and cook till it turns soft. Let it cool and grind it to a paste.
Heat the remaining oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add curry leaves.
Add the tomato paste and little water. Let it boil. Check for salt.
Serve this Tomato chutney with idly, dosa or kuzhipaniyaram.
