Pongal is a very popular South Indian breakfast prepared with rice and lentils. Rava Pongal is another variant where the rice is replaced with roasted semolina. Learn how to make this delicious rava pongal with stepwise pics.
- 1 cup Rava
- 1/2 cup Moong dal
- 4 tbsp ghee
- 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp Peppercorns
- 10 Cashewnut
Pressure cook dal adding 1 cup water for upto 3 whistles.
Heat a kadai and roast rava till it turns colour.
In a pan take 2 cups of water and salt. Let it come to boil. Now reduce flame and start adding rava slowly. Mix it evenly without lumps. Now add the cooked dal and combine well.
In a separate pan heat ghee and add cumin seeds and pepper. Let it splutter.
Add this to the rava and mix it together. In a pan fry cashews separately. Switch off and and fried cashews.
Serve hot with coconut chutney.
