Milk – 2 litres
Palada (small flakes) – 200g
Water – 1/2 litre
Sugar – 10 to 15 tbsp
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Take a deep bottom pressure cooker preferably 8 litres cooker. Add 2 litres of milk, 1/2 litre of water and 5-6 tbsp of sugar. Close the lid, put whistle and leave it in lowest flame for 1.5 hrs.
In the mean time wash palada thoroughly and boil it adding 4 cups of water (on pressing it should get smashed). Switch off the stove and drain palada and keep it aside for 15 mins.
In a pan heat 1 tbsp of ghee and roast the drained palada for 10 mins.
Open the cooker (milk has already turned pink). Add roasted palada more sugar(as per your taste) and stir continuously till palada mixes well with the milk.
Leave it in medium flame and stir occasionally for another 15- 20 mins. Pink palada is ready.
