Panakam Recipe/ How to make Panakam, South Indian summer Drink
Panakam is a traditional South Indian which is a healthy version of lemonade. This summer drink is made during religious festivals like Shivratri, Ramanavami...Whenever I make this drink I use to remember those sweet childhood. When there is a festival at my home town like Therottam, Thirukalyanam or Soora Samharam, there used be Pandals everywhere serving these kind of drinks like Panakam or Sambaram. We use to play full day and keep drinking these drinks which use to taste heavenly then. Let us learn how to make this healthy Panakam drink.
Ingredients
- 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup Powdered jaggery
- 4 Cardamon
- 1/2" dry ginger
- 2 cups water
Recipe Notes
Keep all the ingredients ready.
Crush dry ginger and cardamon using a mortar and pestle.
Sqeeze juice out of lemon , and mix all the ingredients together. Strain it using a strainer.
Traditional Panakam is ready.
