Pallipalayam Chicken Roast Recipe
The chicken dish is named after the town 'Pallipalayam' which is near Erode. This dish very famous across Tamilnadu and few other states also. Making of this recipe includes very minimal ingredients, which make it soo easy and simple. Since there are no masalas added, you can completely sense the taste of chicken merged with shallots and garlic. Lets see how to make this tasty Pallipalayam Chicken Roast with stepwise pics.
- 500 gms Chicken
- 20 Shallots
- 15 Garlic pods
- Curry leaves a handful
- 10 dry red chillies
- 2 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1/4 cup sliced cocounut pieces
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
Peel the skin of shallots and garlic and grind both of them to a smooth paste. In a kadai heat oil add broken red chillies and curry leaves. Sauté for 2 mins. Now add the shallots garlic paste. Saute till u get rid off the smell.
Add in the chicken pieces. (Cut chicken into small pieces for better taste). Add salt and turmeric. Mix well. Cover and cook for about 30 mins in low - medium flame. Keep sautéing at regular intervals.
Now you can see the chicken is completely dry . Now add the cut coconut pieces and few more curry leaves. Drizzle some oil and mix well. Let it cook for another 10 mins.
