Palak Paneer

Palak paneer is a very famous dish across our country. The Cottage Cheese gets cooked in Spinach puree and simple masalas.  Learn how to make Palak Paneer in traditional Punjabi method.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Spinach
  • 200 gms Paneer
  • 2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 big Onion sliced
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 1 handful Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Black salt
  • 1/4 cup Yogurt
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp Ghee/ butter
  • 1 tsp Wheat flour
  • 3 tbsp Fresh cream
  • 1 pinch Garam Masala powder
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice

Recipe Notes

Blanch spinach in hot water for 2 mins. Take out and immediately wash it in cold water. Blend it along with coriander leaves and green chillies to a smooth puree.

In a kadai melt butter and add cumin seeds.

Add onions and saute for 2 mins. Add ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell goes.

 

Add turmeric and chilli powder. Mix well.

Now add yogurt and let it cook for a minute.

Add the grinded puree, black salt and let it boil.

Now add wheat flour and mix well. Add the paneer cubes and mix well. Let it cook for 5 mins. Add sufficient salt.

 

Add fresh cream and Garam Masala. Combine well.

 

Serve this delicious Palak Paneer with any Indian Bread.
