Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Rice Flour
  • 2 cup Gram flour
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Ajwain/Omam Soaked in hot water nearly 3/4 cup

Recipe Notes

Mix all the given ingredients. Mix it by adding the Oma water. Add sufficient water and make a dough.

Heat oil in a kadai. Check the temperature by dropping a small piece of dough. If it pops up immediately then the temperature is perfect. Start pressing the dough in oil using a Idiyappam maker. Remove it when the sound is completely off. Place in a kitchen towel.

Fry some curry leaves and add it at last for a nice flavour.

Tasty and crispy Omapodi is ready.
