- Toor dal – 1/2 cup
- Radish – 2 (cut into slices)
- Tamarind – a lemon size soaked in water
- Onion – 1
- Tomato – 1
- Sambhar powder – 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Hing – 1/4 tsp
Add 2 cups of water and cook dal for upto 5 whistles. Mash it.
In a kadai heat oil, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, onions. Saute it.
Add tomatoes, hing and sambhar powder. Saute for 2 mins.
Add radish, salt, cover and cook it for 2 mins.
Add the tamarind juice and let it boil nicely.
Once the radish is cooked add the cooked dal, sufficient water, curry leaves and coriander leaves. Check for salt.
Let it boil for 3 more mins. Mullangi sambhar is ready.
