Paneer is everyones favourite and when you see fresh peas in the market then Matar paneer is something which is irresistible. Here is the perfect recipe to make Dhaba style Matar paneer. Enjoy this delicious Indian cottage cheese curry with roti, naan or simple jeera rice.
- 400 gms Paneer
- 2 big Onions
- 4 medium Tomatoes
- 2 Green chillies
- 2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 cup fresh peas
- Coriander leaves
Cut and keep all the veggies ready.
In a pan melt 1 tbsp butter and add onions and chillies. Cook for 2 mins.
Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.
Add tomatoes and cover and cook till it turns soft. Let it cool and grind it to a smooth puree.
In a kadai melt the remaining butter and add cumin seeds. Let it splutter.
Now add the blended puree, coriander powder, chilli powder and salt. Combine well. Cook in high flame till it starts leaving oil. Do not let it burn. (If you want it to be more spicy , you can add 1 tsp red chilli powder).
Now add 1 cup water, paneer and peas. Mix well. Cover and cook for 5 mins in medium flame.
Add fresh coriander and mix.
Serve hot with chapathi or Pulao.
