Mango Kesari Recipe/ Mango Sheera Recipe
Mango season is about to get over and I really wanna enjoy the delicious mangoes in several forms. Already I have posted many mango recipes this season and here's another one. I usually like to have some sweet post lunch and this week I prepared this mango kesari and stored in refrigerator. So whenever I want I can reheat a small portion for 2 mins in oven and have this yummilicious mango delight with ghee floating over. Being a South Indian you can never skip kesari as it makes a really quick sweet and you can relish it almost all South Indian weddings. Pineapples or Bananas are mostly added in fruit Kesaris, but this mango kesari is very unique and tasty. I prepared the recipe using bansi rava but you can use regular sooji instead. Don't miss to try out this delicious dessert this mango season. Learn how to make Mango Kesari/ Mango Sheera using stepwise pics.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Bansi rava
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 cups Water
- 1 cup Mango pulp
- few saffron strands
- 1/4 cup Ghee
Recipe Notes
In a non stick pan heat 1 tbsp of ghee and add rava. Roast till you get a nice aroma. Remove it separately.
In the same pan take 2 cups of water and add the mango pulp. Mix well without lumps. Cover and cook till the water comes to a boil.
Now simmer the flame and add the rava slowly while stirring on the other hand. Make sure there are no lumps. Cover and cook till the rava is done.
Now add the sugar and mix it up. The sugar starts melting and the rava loosens.
Add the ghee in batches and keep mixing till the ghee oozes out and kesari becomes non sticky. (You can add some saffron strands too for little colour)
Hot Mango kesari is ready.
