Karuveppilai Eral Thokku/ Curry Leaves Prawns
Curry leaves / Karuveppilai/ Kadi patta is packed with lots of vitamins and fibre. It plays a very significant part in our Indian cuisine. But usually it is used for flavouring and not consumed like any other greens. In this recipe curry leaves are grinded and added along with prawns, so that we get all the nutrition. The colour and flavour of this Karuveppilai Eral Thokku is very tempting and must definitely give it a try.
- 400 gas Prawns
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp crushed ginger garlic
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 20 Curry leaves
- 2 tsp Fennel seeds
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 3-4 Green chillies
- 1 Onion
In blender take all the given ingredients for grinding and blend it to a paste.
Marinate prawns in this paste adding turmeric powder and salt. Keep it for 30 mins.
In a kadai heat oil, splutter mustard seeds. Add onions and saute till it turns soft.
Add ginger garlic and cook till the raw smell goes.
Add the prawns, mix well and cover it.
Prawns will start leaving water now. Cook till it absorbs all the water and Start leaving oil. Do not overcook prawns as it may turn rubbery.
Tasty and healthy Karuveppilai eral thokku is ready.
