Karuppatti Kaapi/ Black Coffee with Palm Jaggery
Karuppatti Kaapi has these days become a part of my daily routine. This is what I make at first in the morning daily. I am an early riser and to keep myself active I want to have some refreshing drink in the morning. I was having green tea at the beginning but that is definitely not my cup of tea 😛 I never had the satisfaction of having a tea and I want to take something good so that my mood lifts completely in the morning (which is very essential for housewives). I suddenly remembered my grandmas boastings on their olden life and their food habits. Whenever she talks about those golden days she never misses to point out this Karuppatti Kaapi/ Black Coffee with Palm Jaggery. 'Those days people use to have gallons of this coffee and then they go to fields for agriculture. Thats why they never had any disease'. This is what she says and I am not sure how far it is possible to live longer by having this coffee, but I am sure replacing tea with this black coffee will certainly do good.

- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp Karuppatti/ Palm jaggery powdered
- 1/2 tsp Filter cofee powder You can increase according to your taste
Take water in a saucepan and add the powdered Karupatti/ palm jaggery. Let it come to a boil.
Now add the coffee powder and let it boil for another 2 mins. Switch off the flame.
Filter the coffee and Serve. (I have not added milk in this coffee, but if you prefer it with milk then you let it cool a while and then add required milk. If you add it at this stage The milk may split.)
