Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Toor dal
- 1 Onion
- 1 Tomato
- 4 Green chillies
- 1 cup vegetables
- 1/4 cup coconut
- Tamarind extract a lemon size
- 2 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 5 Red chillies
- 1/4 tsp fenugreek
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt
- Coriander leaves
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
- Jaggery
To temper
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 2 Red chilly
- Curry leaves
Recipe Notes
Cook toor dal adding turmeric powder and asafoetida.
Dry roast coriander, cumin, fenugreek seeds and red chilly. Grind it along with coconut, little onion and tomato.
In a kadai add onions, tomato, green chilly, vegetables and little water. Cook till its done.
Now add cooked dal, coconut paste, salt, tamarind extract, jaggery and let it boil for 3 mins. Add coriander leaves.
Switch off and temper with the given ingredients.
Serve with steamed rice.
