Kanava Varatiyadhu/ Squid Roast
- 300 gms Squid
- Curry leaves
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder optinal
- 2 tbsp Coconut oil
For masala paste
- 15 Shallots
- 2 Green chilly
- 1 piece Ginger
- 6 Garlic
Grind all the above ingredients to a smooth paste
Heat oil in a kadai and add curry leaves. Add the grinded masala. SAute till it becomes brown.
Add tomato and salt. Saute till it becomes mushy.
Add all the masala powders. Saute till the oil separates.
Now add the squid pieces. Add salt and cook in medium flame for 8 to 10 mins. Do not overcook as it tends to become rubbery.
Mix well and serve hot.
