The skin under the eye is thinner and more delicate and it is not elastic as the rest of the skin.
Though this problem is more common in grownup people, at times even children are also seen with the dark circles under the eyes.
Dark circles can develop due to hereditary factors or illness. But often it is due to stress and lack of sleep. Some of the other reasons could be high blood pressure,
consumption of alcohol, due to pregnancy and even due to sinus problems.
There are several remedies, which can be done at home to remove dark circles.
Dip a clean towel in ice water, squeeze it and put this on your eyes for sometime. Do this for atleast 15 mins. Do not overdo it. This will reduce your dark circles.
Apply cold milk on your eyelids and your under eyes everyday, rinse it after 15 mins. This wil diminish your dark circles gradually.
Cucumber is the most hailed and most common remedy. Put thin slices of cucumber on your eyes and keep them for 15 mins. But the best way is to squeeze the juice out by
grating them. Apply this juice twice a day. You can even store it in a fridge and use it.
For puffiness under eyes mix even amount of potato juice and cucumber juice and apply it under eyes. Wash it after 15 mins.
Lemon juice and cucumber juice can be mixed in equal quantity and applied for 15 mins. Lemon is a good bleaching agent.
Tomato is a handy recipie to remove dar circles. Tomato juice makes the skin light.
Crush some mint and apply it on your under eyes.
Almond oil is an excellent nourishment for the skin. Take 2 drops of oil and massage it gently on eyes in a circular motion.
Apart from all these adequate intake of water, 6 to 8 hours of sleep is also very essential to remove dark circles.
