Homemade Pineapple Jam Recipe
If you have a child at home then probably Jams and sauces would occupy the top places of your grocery list. And yes.. my daughter goes crazy for jams and ketchups. Most of the times I make sure to make it at home without adding any artificial colouring or preservatives. I always feel it is my responsibilty to introduce healthy eating habits to her and do it very sincerely too. Yesterday I made this yummy Pineapple jam for my daughter and thought of sharing this super easy recipe with you guys. I always cook in iron kadai or claypots, but for this I used a non stick pan which I rarely use for cooking. A nonstick can make your job very easy for this recipe as it tends to get stick to the sides. I have also added a bit of Pineapple essence for nice flavouring, but it is completely optional. I have mostly observed many bloggers adding lemon juice for this recipe, but I dint add any, since pineapple has a mild sourness in itself I dint prefer adding more of it to the taste. Usually I prepare it using honey and I dint have enough of it I used sugar, but you can add honey for a healthier version of your jam. You can try making this recipe using any fruits of your choice. This comes very good with fruits like apples, mangoes and strawberries.

- 2 cups Pineapple puree Thick and fresh
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/8 tsp Pineapple essence optional
In a non stick pan take the fresh Pineapple puree.
Add sugar and mix it well. The mixture becomes watery and increase the flame to medium and stir it.
Once the sugar is completely dissolved add the pineapple essence and keep cooking in medium flame.
After 15-20 mins the jam will start to becoming thick and hence stir continuously to avoid sticking it to the sides (be careful while cooking at this stage as it splutters too mush). Switch off when it is at the right consistency as it tends to get thicker once it is cooled.
Once it is cooled transfer to to a glass bottle. You can store it in refrigerator for upto 3 months. Enjoy your Pineapple Jam with fresh slices of bread or Pooris.
