- 3 Onions chopped
- 2 Tomatoes chopped
- 10 Garlic chopped
- Tamarind juice of a big lemon size
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- 2 tbsp Gingelly oil
To roast and grind
- 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1/2 cup Coconut
- Curry leaves
Dry roast the given ingredients adding it one by one. Saute till the coconut becomes dark brown. Let it cool and grind it by adding little water.
In a kadai heat oil, add onions and garlic. Saute till it becomes nice golden brown.
Add tomatoes and saute till it becomes mushy..
Add coriander powder, chilly powder and asafoetida. Cook till the raw smell goes.
Add the tamarind juice and let it boil.
Now add the grinded paste, sufficient water and salt. Let. it boil for 6-7 mins in high flame. Add some curry leaves.
Serve with hot rice and papad.
