Cucumber Sambaram Recipe/ Vellarikkai Moru
Sambharam or spiced buttermilk is a summer drink which is prepared from curd and spices.This is a popular South Indian summer drink widely prepared in Kerala. My grandma used to make varieties of sambharam during summers. If there are guests are at home then she never missed to make this. Our traditional recipes always has its own importance. Buttermilk or neermor is considered to be the best drink to treat summers. In this recipe I have added cucumber/ vellarikkai to buttermilk which is very refreshing. - 1 small Cucumber peeled and diced
- 15 Curry leaves
- 1 inch Ginger
- 2 Garlic
- 1 Green chilli
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Hing
- 1/2 cup Curd
Cut and keep all the ingredients ready.
Take cucumber, curd, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, curry leaves and hing in a blender. Blend it to a fine paste. Add 2 cups water and sufficient salt. Whisk it well.
