Everyone wants to try some variation of juices this summer. In India summer is normally welcomed with Shikanji/ lemonade/ sharbath. In different parts of India the summer drinks are prepared with its very own traditions. There are many traditional Indian healthy summer drinks like Ragi koozh, sattu drink etc which are very refreshing and healthy too.

Watermelons and cucumbers can be seen everywhere in India during summers. Cucumber has high amount of water content and soluble fibres. It helps you to keep the body hydrated. It is low calorie vegetable which helps to lose weight, reduce blood pressure and cholesterol level. It promotes digestion and since it has high silica content it is very good for hair. It is also a great source of anti oxidants.
In my place usually we prepare cucumber buttermilk/ Chaas where the cucumber is grinded along with curd and then diluted. I use to love it when I was a kid. Ingredients
- 1 Cucumber Peeled and cubed
- 8 Mint leaves
- 1/2 Lemon
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Black salt
Recipe Notes
Keep all the ingredients ready.
Take cucumber, mint leaves, sugar, lemon juice and black salt in a blender. Grind it to a smooth puree. Strain the juice. Add 1/2 glass water and mix well.
Refreshing Cucumber Mint Cooler is ready. Serve this Cucumber juice topped with ice cubes.
