Classic Tomato Spaghetti Recipe
Today I tried this classic italian dish which is Spaghetti in tomato sauce. It could serve as a perfect main course for lunch or dinner. It is a very simple to cook recipe and tastes soo good. Tomatoes occupy a very prominent place in Italian cuisine and there are several varieties of tomatoes available over there. Usually plum tomatoes are used to prepare this dish, but since it is not widely available in India I have used Indian tomatoes, which tasted delicious too. You can also used canned tomatoes instead. I have used Onion and Garlic in powdered form which brought a peculiar taste to this dish but incase it is not available you can just add finely chopped onions and garlic. If you get fresh basil leaves you can add it to this recipe for a nice twist in taste. I am sure this recipe will surely attract your children and loved ones. - 250 gms Spaghetti
- 3 tsp Olive oil
- 1 tbsp Onion powder
- 1 tbsp Garlic powder
- 5 medium Tomatoes
- Chilli flakes
- Parsley flakes
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder optional
Add little salt and Cook spaghetti till it is 90% done. Drain the water and wash it with cold water.
Chop tomatoes and blend it to a paste.
In a pan heat oil and add the tomato puree, paprika, red chilli powder, onion powder and garlic powder. Mix well and cover cook in medium flame for upto 7-8 mins.
Now add the parsley, chilli flakes and Italian seasoning. Add sufficient salt and cook till the water is almost absorbed and gets consistency of a thick sauce.
Now add the cooked spaghetti and toss well. Garnish with some parsley and chilli flakes.
Serve it hot.
