Chicken Biriyani
Biriyanis always plays a special part in Indian cuisine. That too biriyanis which are made in muslim marriages are so popular. There are so many varieties of biriyanis and the method of preparation for each one is unique. This biriyani recipe is usually prepared in muslim community and popularly know as 'bhai veetu biriyani' in our place. Let us see how to prepare this famous Chicken Biriyani .
Ingredients
- 1 cup Biriyani Rice
- 300 gms chicken
- 2 Onions
- 1 Tomato
- 2 Green chillies
- 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 cup Mint and coriander leaves
- 1 bay leaf
- 4 cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 elaichi
- 4 Stone flowers
- Rock salt
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 2 tbsp Curd
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
Recipe Notes
Cut and keep all veggies ready. Wash rice and drain the water. Keep it for 30 mins.
In a pot heat ghee and oil. Add bayleaf, cinnamon, cardamon, stone flower and clove.
Add onions and saute till brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw smell goes. Add tomatoes, mint and coriander leaves and cook till soft.
Add curd and red chilli powder. Cook for 2 mins.
Add the cleaned chicken and cover. Cook till the chicken becomes soft.
Now add 1.5 cups water, salt and some mint& coriander leaves. Cover and let it boil.
Now add the washed rice and mix well. Cover with a tight lid and let it cook in medium flame for about 15 mins. Open and stir gently.
Serve this tasty chicken biriyani with curry and raita.
