Bombay Chutney
No mood to grate coconut today. Try this quick besan chutney, which is very easy to prepare. It is usually served with Pooris in Bombay, I prefer to have with dosa also. This recipe can be a life saviour on some lazy day.
Ingredients
- 2 Onions chopped
- 2 Tomatoes chopped
- 2 tbsp Besan
- 4-5 Green chillies
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 tsp Urad dal
- 2 tsp Channa dal
- Salt
- Coriander leaves
- 1/4 tsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
Recipe Notes
Cut and keep all the veggies ready.
Add besan to 1/4 cup water and mix well without lumps.
In a kadai heat oil, splutter mustard seeds. Add urad dal and channa dal. Let it become golden brown.
Add onions and little sugar. Let it become slightly brown.
Add tomatoes and green chillies.Cook for 2 mins.
Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
Add 1 cup of water and let it boil.
Now add the besan and stir well.
Let it boil till the raw smell goes. Add coriander leaves and lemon juice.
Easy and quick Bombay Chutney is ready to be served.
