- Beetroot – 3 chopped into small pieces
- Curry leaves
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Channa dal – 1 tbsp
- Coconut – 1/4 cup
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Garlic – 2
- Red chilly – 3
- Turmeric powder – a pinch
Grind all the above ingredients to a coarse paste.
In a kadai heat oil, add mustard seeds, channa dal, curry leaves. Let it become golden brown.
Add the beetroot and salt. Cover and cook till beetroot is cooked.
Add the grinded paste and mix well. Cook for 2 more mins.
Beetroot thoran is ready.
