Aam Panna Recipe/ Raw Mango Panna/ How to make Aam Panna or Raw Mango Juice
Mango season has just started and raw mangoes are just entering our Bangalore markets. It was too pricy but When saw those, but I couldn't resist myself from buying it. The moment I saw those greenish mangoes I thought of making my favourite drink Aam Panna/ Raw Mango Juice.
Aam Panna is a North Indian drink which is made out of raw mango and chatpat spices. It has unique blend of sweetness and tanginess. I made the concentrate and stored it for a week. This is one of those special summer drinks which you can never say no. The actual taste comes only if you add homemade freshly roasted and grinded cumin powder. Black salt also helps in enhancing the taste and flavour. My daughter always loves tangy foods and she loved it. It gives you a great pleasure when your children love what you prepare and ask for more. Since it has become her favourite I am gonna make it more frequent for this summer. - 1 Raw mango
- 1 cup Sugar or more depending upon ur taste
- 1 tsp Black salt
- 1 tsp Roasted cumin powder
- 1/8 tsp Chilly powder
- 1/8 tsp Pepper powder
- Mint leaves
- Ice cubes
Peel the skin and chop mango into small square pieces.
Add 1 cup water, sugar, salt, chilly powder, black salt, roasted cumin powder and pepper.
Mix everything together and cook in medium flame for nearly 7-8 mins till it becomes soft.
Let it cool down and blend it to a puree.
In a serving glass add 2-3 tbsp of the mango puree, mint leaves, 2 ice cubes and sufficient water. Mix well and serve.
